Fellow Cameroonians and Friends
The Importance of Government and Ethical Standards towards Good Governance
We cannot promote good or better governance and the rule of law in any society in the absence of Government and Ethical Standards. When Citizens of every country are brought up with good manners (code of conduct) they never forget where they come from even while on exile or asylum overseas. We have strong moral values because we love our country and cannot abandon our people to suffocate under dictatorship and corrupt tyranny. Make no mistake. We shall create another Council on Government and Ethics to enable us fight corruption and laziness within the government and civil society.
We must be inspired by a set of ethical standards to do what is right in history and not what is popular. Of course, corruption is very popular among Cameroonians. Does that make it right just because majority are corrupt and used to? This consciousness emanates from our sense of right and wrong based on either religious belief systems, natural laws or laws of society. Therefore, it is unethical for government officials to broke our constituted laws and expect to be given a free pass.
We, Cameroonians are about to make history because you share in the importance of being a member of a unique ethical movement called V.FREECCAM.This is about you and much less about any of us who stand to humbly entreat you to belong and participate. The trumpet for freedom is sounding and the wall of corruption, dictatorship and tyranny will collapse soon with your help.
The world will soon come to learn that we, Cameroonians and Africans in the Diaspora did not see injustice and corruption dumped on our people, and turned our eyes away unperturbed from the lack of ethics compliance by the government. Don’t laugh only at the villager who lacks table manners/etiquettes in the city that has no rule of law either by city officials.
What about governments that have no sense of government ethics among an enlightened and free world? The only suitable prescription for them is change. Corruption within all institutions in Cameroon and some parts of Africa is the number one ethical problem that requires thorough review and major changes after 50 years of gross violation of the people’s rights to know how their country is governed.
We are also talking about lack of ethic in management of public funds entrusted into the care of those who claim that there were democratically elected or constitutionally appointed government ministers. What has happened with constituted manners in a society where we are all stakeholders? Have manners become so scarce like dog tears in public entrance exams into the so call professional schools? What is professional about them if there is no professional ethic in the selection of candidates?
When we have a sacred calling to right the wrongs of our society, it does not call for controversy or an argument against the letter of the law and universal principles that shape humankind’s craving for dignity; security, justice, peace, prosperity and happiness. Every government that is conscious of their ethical standards knows she is finished once she cannot guarantee the dignity of the governed, which include but not limited to those who are dehumanized everyday by their own government officials.
The world is rather learning at a geometrical degree that a people who once upon a time fled from their country, Cameroon in the Central West Coast of Africa , whether by design or force, wandered only for too long overseas in search of the values of free people! Then not long they discovered that “the city built on the hill” was flourishing with sufficient milk of freedom distributed to everyone to the extent, which there was a left over.
In good conscience, we, Cameroonians and Africans in the Diaspora, owing to our roots in patriotism demanded that the left over of this freedom be exported to where other fellow human beings are desperately in need for it. It is overdue. Dictatorship and corrupt tyranny were never on the list of needs or wants of people like President George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, John Adams and James Madison when they were at the forefront of nation building. We entreat you to become a nation builder.
The time is now to free Cameroon and free our people from such a bizarre system of government still tolerated by anyone today when it was never embraced by these founders. We must free ourselves because we are entitled to be free to begin with but most importantly to honor the loyalty and courage of those who have sacrificed their lives for the freedom others have today.
Be mindful of the fact that we can lead ourselves in all sectors of the government. We can create our own meaning by fully utilizing our capabilities. We can invent our own society and make it even better and transparent. After all others have trod this path and why should we be an exception? We are not handicapped mentally, spiritually and emotionally anymore if at all these were the problems imposed on us by neo-colonialism. Just because people are from a certain origin does not disqualify them from high performance and high productivity.
Today, let it be known that a new generation of us (Cameroonians and Africans) were born into this world since 20 years ago. We have been well prepared for this moment in history from all standpoints. What is the surprise? We were quiet and observing, reading and studying the people as well as the system from past and present. If we are living and working overseas, why can’t we transfer that energy to Cameroon / Africa to change our corrupt systems?
Yes, this is the defining moment for everyone of us who thirst for change to drink from the fresh spring water of V.FREECAM where all of us will never regret the cooling effect of our onerous determination to take back our country from a small group of ignorant aristocrats trampling our people under their feet. The practice of corrupt tyranny like slavery and neo-colonialism are very unethical.
Let nobody fool you that we cannot unite and lead ourselves. Of course, there is no qualm that a few of us Cameroonians and Africans continue to stand in the way of the freedom of the majority. The battle of the minority to oppress the majority is always very short-lived. The tricks of Pharaoh to divide and tear us apart are not new. We cannot fall prey to the intrigues and insanity of those whose purpose in this world is only to crush the rest because of their lust for power and wealth.
Fellow country people if you were not necessary for this movement to change Cameroon , we would not connect with you. You are important as well as all the people you are about to pass this unto them. We urge you to join this movement .You will never regret it because upon this place you will leave behind footprints for the coming generation to know you stood up as an agent of freedom and change for them.
Leave behind your good manners and not your ill -gotten wealth to the next generation. Good manners can bring about prosperity at anytime just as bad manners can bring about misery upon any society at anytime. This is the right time to make the right choice for change.
