THE CONCEPT OF POLITICAL POWER

                                The Concept of Political Power

I have a different understanding of Political Power since I am a political being. I have hardly been disinterested in politics since I was educated about the truth. So, my constant search for a better political form of leadership in Cameroon has motivated me to think seriously about what it ought to be.

This thought is based on the sad experience I had in Cameroon. I have never voted since I was born because it is almost useless in a dictatorship. They organize elections and win all the time because the same people are all over the place and cannot be accountable to anyone but to themselves. Elections have never been free and fair in Cameroon since I was born. It is a bogus exercise.

Political Power, which is under the canopy of a Sacred Constitution is supposed to be like a revolving door and not static and stiff like an unshakable pillar. Such a revolving door of Political Power allows different people to have the equal access to political power and leadership so that we should expect positive outcomes. The constitution is not and must not be a political document, and should not be influenced by politics.

The Constitution is to every nation or society /community or organization like the soul is to a human being. It ought to be drawn by men and women with a good conscience, and clean soul so that it will have a long lasting impact on generations to come like the United States Constitution. Only tyrants play with the constitution and unfortunately, they and their followers are a misfit in a free and civilized society. Any Politician who treats the constitution as a political weapon, to manipulate people in order to build a statusquo to suit his or her selfish desires is doomed to fail woefully in the long run.

President Paul Biya of Cameroon made the choice to twist the constitution and proceeded to establish a bogus Electoral Commission describe as ELECAM.Afterwards, his followers argued vigorously that the arrangement to adulterate the constitution to catapult him to become President for life was politics! This is what I reject as politics. Somethings ought not to be influenced by politics like love and respect for the sacred document of the country. If we follow the logic of dictators, then President George W. Bush would have acted like President Paul Biya and also used majority of Republicans during his time and changed the Constitution of the United States in order to be President for life.

So, should President Obama use that same logic of political incorrectness enforced by President Paul Biya of Cameroon to change the constitution since the Democrats have the majority in Congress and Senate under his rule? I don't understand why some of these folks in Africa do not reason outside of the box and yet they studied in Europe and North America? When that constitution was altered in order to favor another seven more years for President Paul after he has ruled Cameroon for 26 years already, it was one more fervent reason why I believe we need God's intervention in that society. Some people there are acting like they are suffering from insanity. They keep "doing the samething repeatedly and expecting different results”.Unless, people are willing to do things the right way, they should never expect good results.

Thanks for reasoning with me
