Dear Congressman Donald M. Payne                                                                                 12 /28/2010

We wish you a happy and properous New Year,2011.As I continue to seek your notice and attention  to lead Cameroonians within the USA  either as political refugees/ prisoners or political asylees to testify before the Congress of free people,I wanted to draw your attention to this unprecedented complaint I filed against the bad CPDM government of Cameroon in 2009.

The truth is no matter what goes on and on in the name of 2011 Presidential Elections in Cameroon, the world has heard this loud and clear; Mr Paul Biya  and all members of his government are not eligible to run for public office again anywhere in the world including but not limited to his government officials  together with whom they have not declared their assets according to article 66 of the Cameroon constitution. Article 66 is the law and must be enforced accordingly during the transitional government ,which I have proposed.

The gross violation of the human rights of Cameroonians for more than 400 years today is triggered by the illegal plundering of the country's riches while the people are languishing in abject poverty as very few are living in opulence at home and overseas due to ill-gotten wealth. The G-8 summit will never ever end poverty and injustice in Africa without reasonable respect for the rule of law. In the case of Cameroon upholding ARTICLE 66 has been a long standing strategy since I contacted the Industrial nations.

In recent time, the situation is made worse because the elite do not want to respect the sacred and inalienable rights of other Cameroonians and so they resort to corrupt and abusive means to stay in power as long as they want. This must change. We cannot have elections in Cameroon right now when we know the truth. No democracy shall ever prevail in a society that is bed- ridden by thieves, cruel men and women who are doing everything to uphold the statusquo of corrupt  tyranny and dictatorship.

We must uphold the constitution and work towards rebuilding the nation through a transitional government against ,which backdrop we shall then organize free and fair elections. Anyhting short of this is a farce. I believe that we are more educated and enlightened than those who lived before us in the 17th century.

In  my initial concern to you, I observed that some Cameroonians who were Pro-government of Cameroon were notorious for cutting ahead of us to manipulate the truth and claimed to be speaking on our behalf! I argued that if they had good faith , they would not be meeting clandestinely with either the White House, Secretary of State or Congress officials whereas they were well informed of our political advocacy and activism since 2006.

As for me, I am not scared to meet together with Cameroonians from all walks of life to face each other over the claims about  the methods of democratizing Cameroon. We cannot change Cameroon by suppressing the voices of others because it defeats the very essence and purpose of democracy and most importantly the free access to the first amendment.

There are no public debates and dialogue except some clandestine political gimmicks displayed by individuals who are clamouring to defend and protect the  corrupt tyranny of Cameroon. Ironically, some of them claimed to the US officials that they were persecuted politically by the CPDM regime!

Experience from American political system has shown that whether or not we have ten  people seeking public office, equal opportunity be given to them to make their case. When there is a political game and manoevres over the rights of others to be heard , it is not a proper reflection of the dreams and aspirations of the people as such corrupt political activities only depict the dark past of corrupt tyranny and dictatorship.

Only Cameroonians who  live in fear would be scared of the truth but we are very determined to advocate and fight for our freedom. This was the complaint that marked the beginning of an aggressive grassroots political campaign to raise awareness against this government as well as explore ways to bring about meaningful change.

After this case was made against the Corrupt CPDM government , I proceeded to declare my candidacy for President with 21 points as a blueprint for change. The 21 points are also accompanied with a 33 council ,which points to the strategic plan of action as regards the work of the transitional government.

Therefore, I am calling on all stakeholders in Cameroon to take seriously into consideration these issues because our time for freedom has come and it is unacceptable that some people would want to suppress the truth  for freedom, justice peace and reconciliation.

Thank you for your very kind attention to these very serious issues affecting our common destiny and humanity

Jonathan Fru Awasom
