Dear Cameroonians and Well-Wishers

I want to wish you a very happy Thanksgiving celebration.
All praise and thanks to God  for all the good things ,which have happened in our lives. Most importantly, we must be thankful for the political freedoms we have inherited from other nations and be inspired to free ourselves from the chains of ignorance and intolerance by the CPDM system in Cameroon.

I was wondering if everyone really took notice of the speech of President Obama to Ghana Parliament on the 11th of July, 2009. Make no mistake that I was inspired and propelled to more action by his speech after May, 29th,2009 when I initially blew the Whistle against the CPDM system. It was a policy speech, which finally came at the right time in history. Now, I give you the chance to explore it with me again. The immediate implication of this speech on our effort is in part expressed in the 32 Councils proposed as the building blocks for a Transitional Government for Cameroon
Yes, We Can: President Obama’s vision and promise for Africa

Excerpt from President Barack Obama’s Policy Speech on US-Africa Relations in the 21st Century

“Make no mistake: history is on the side of these brave Africans … Africa doesn't need strongmen, it needs strong institutions. America will not seek to impose any system of government on any other nation — the essential truth of democracy is that each nation determines its own destiny. What we will do is increase assistance for responsible individuals and institutions, with a focus on supporting good governance — on parliaments, which check abuses of power and ensure that opposition voices are heard; on the rule of law, which ensures the equal administration of justice; on civic participation, so that young people get involved; and on concrete solutions to corruption like forensic accounting, automating services, strengthening hot lines and protecting whistle-blowers to advance transparency and accountability”

President Barack Obama, Ghana Parliament on the 11th of July 2009

Let me explain to you how the transitional government may function. There shall be interim councils to oversea the transition. It is also a period during, which we shall be learning and growing together until we reach that place where we are certain that the check and balances of power are functioning.

Each Council will be made of members and experts under the leadership of a chairperson. The Council shall advise the transitional government through consultation and briefing at all fronts in the light of the vision for the country. In this wise, I will suggest the following Councils with broad provisions to cover all sectors towards good governance. These Councils will report to the transitional government.

We will appoint Chairpersons to these councils based on a number of factors; Education, Knowledge, character, experience, expertise and regional representation. It will be up to the Chairpersons to then recruit members of their council based on an acceptable code of conduct.

They could be at least to 10 members. However, the Councils will then develop Committees within the Cities and communities to report to them. This kind of decentralize system will give every Cameroon the opportunity to participate in nation building and will eventually strengthen grassroots democracy.
